About Annemarie Buckley

Growing up painting and drawing in Geneva, New York, I first discovered graphic design at Boston University. Thanks to a slew of supportive professors, I was admitted into major-only design classes while remaining in the liberal arts school—a generous and unprecedented act that forever changed my trajectory. This desire to determine my own curriculum, and the resulting balance between the academic and the artistic, came to define my approach to both work and life.

After graduation, I landed at Burton, where I spent the better part of a decade managing photography for the multinational company and its family of brands. As Content Manager in Burton's internal agency, I led 10,000 sku photo shoots, collaborated on 300 page catalogs, and “saved for web” more times than I would care to think (check my claw). After an incredibly fulfilling stint, it was time to chart my own course again. In early 2011, I launched Scout's Honor Paper—the inaugural "Buckley Project" and independent vehicle I had long been dreaming of.

I am now a designer and artist based in New York and Vermont.

About Buckley Projects

What started as a line of cards has developed into a multidisciplinary design studio. Today, Buckley Projects acts as a creative partner to small businesses: bringing their ideas to life and providing thoughtful solutions across a range of media. From logo design to art direction, every aspect of branding is treated with the utmost quality and care.

My process is rooted in a wide-ranging cultural curiosity and rigorous belief in editing as much as designing. My experience with a global industry leader informs my work with local start-ups. In essence, I see both the forest and the trees.

Buckley Projects is also the umbrella under which I explore more personal work: painting, photography, collage, illustration, and more. The name is intentionally broad to allow for the natural creative evolution that, with all luck, occurs over a lifetime.

With each project, I push myself to grow. I consider it a great privilege to help clients do the same. If you'd like to collaborate, let's talk.
